A quintessentially great, big-time WWE spectacle match promoted at a time when the company seemed incapable of promoting one, this was such wonderful tonic for sports entertainment cynicism.

How the f*ck did the Undertaker pull this off in 2019? The old magic that allowed us to fall in love with the company can still cast a spell, on this improbably brilliant evidence.

Shane McMahon's infamous "punches in bunches" functioned very well here, in that they drew the ire of the Undertaker and a deafening crowd reaction demanding his presence. When he eventually tagged in - after a wonderful bit of registering on the part of Roman "Only Knows X Moves As If That's The Point" Reigns - he lit up Shane McMahon with actual, great worked strikes. This was an unintentional but still very effective spot of retribution. His work looked so much better than Shane's, and Shane was thus the perfect punching bag.

The urn must have appeared offscreen, because 'Taker looked beyond energised here; his sequence with Drew McIntyre was a slobberknocker, his you're-f*cked no-sell a thing of psychological beauty.

The customary furniture destruction was as organic as this was a fabulous, smoke-and-mirrors mask-job of 'Taker's limitations - a blockbuster finale to a fun-as-hell, cathartic match.
