10 Best WWE Moments From Wrestlers Who Just Got Released
1. Bullet Club Reunion
At SummerSlam 2016, AJ Styles was set to face John Cena, while Finn Balor was vying for the Universal Championship in what would prove to be an incredible bout against Seth Rollins (which sadly ended with the Irish Superstar having to relinquish the title next night after suffering an injury).
However, in a backstage segment - Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson sadly still had that goofy gimmick where they would wear doctor's coats - we got a Bullet Club reunion before the show started.
Styles, Gallows, and Anderson attempted to get Balor to "Too Sweet" them, but he just smiled and walked away. Despite that, this was still a great moment that really resonated with fans familiar with their history in Japan, and a moment many hoped would pay off later on in the show.
It didn't, of course, and both the Balor Club and The O.C. would be largely forgettable. However, the talented, and now released, tag team certainly left a lasting impact with this exchange, and it's just a shame WWE never capitalised on the reunion fans really wanted to see by bringing this lot together.
