10 Best WWE NXT Matches Of 2014

4. NXT Championship Match: Adrian Neville vs. Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze vs. Tyson Kidd - NXT Takeover: Fatal 4-Way

Take four of the best in-ring workers in the industry, not to mention the top four stars in all of NXT, put them in the ring with one another and let them work their magic. It is a ready-made formula for success and one Triple H and the rest of NXT management followed when booking the main event of Takeover: Fatal 4-Way. Adrian Neville had dominated the top of the card since capturing the title the previous February but over the course of his championship reign, Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze and Sami Zayn had all emerged as very real threats to his top spot. In order to continue as the top dog in the brand, he would have to overcome all of their challenges at once. It would not be easy. Kidd had become the first Superstar to pin him all year during the build to the match while Zayn had emerged as the favorite to dethrone the champion. Breeze was a wild card, having won a No. 1 Contender's match at the first Takeover by defeating Zayn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMqWk0npb-U Despite several outstanding spots and dramatic near-falls involving all four Superstars, the match came down to a moment in which Zayn sprinted across the squared circle and delivered the Helluvah Kick to Breeze. Just as it appeared as though the Canadian-born competitor was going to achieve his dreams of capturing the title, Neville pulled the referee out of the ring in a fit of desperation. From there, he would go on to retain his title by pinning Kidd. Despite the fact that nothing he did was illegal, his antics were looked at as cheap and would serve as the emphasis for Neville's rivalry with Zayn over the championship.
