10 Best WWE Pay-Per-Views Of The Past Decade

4. Survivor Series 2016

After WWE failed so profoundly at exploiting Bill Goldberg's positives in a troubled 2003 run, it wasn't just the nature of his crushing 86 second victory over 'The Beast' that left jaws on floors. The company had the wrestling world at large in complete and utter disarray with the spellbinding use of both men that would ultimately carry much of the promotional weight behind 2017's Royal Rumble and WrestleMania cards.

The brevity of the double main event's second half was complimented by a magnificent Raw Vs SmackDown Live! five-on-five Survivor Series fight.

Going just shy of an hour, the reds and blues went to war in emphatic fashion, fooling audiences that lightening could strike the following year despite the excess of nostalgia and noise in the 2017 vintage. Crossing brand lines, The Shield's brief reunion during the match played hell with AJ Styles and Shane McMahon on the Tuesday team, particularly when Roman speared 'The Money' out of the sky in a coast-to-coast attempt-gone-wrong that rendered him legitimately concussed.

The Women's and Tag equivalents weren't without their charms either, if nothing else highlighting the early success the company had made of the latest roster split. Such an expression of show solidarity seems almost impossible less than two years later.
