He's here! Turn that frown upside down, 'cause Shane McMahon is fully deserving of applause on this occasion. His work ethic at WrestleMania 35 was excellent, and it was matched the whole way by a motivated Miz. In the latest Untold doc on the Network, Kurt Angle revealed that he and Shane chatted about stealing the show at KOTR 2001.

Shane-O must've had a similar chat with The Miz pre-'Mania in 2019. Together, they put on the kind of arena-wide stunt show brawl that's not the norm these days. That match-ending superplex from atop a camera platform was ripped straight from the Attitude era playbook, and it gave the mid card something it didn't have.

It gave it that set-piece laden slice of overblown bumping and drama.

The ending, one that continued the feud whilst still giving the babyface an out that the heel was lucky, was well-executed and clever. Most expected Miz to win, so it was good to see WWE deviate from the 'season finale' feel of 'Mania and mix things up.
