10 Best WWE Promos Of 2018

2. Becky Lynch Comes Of Age (SmackDown - 21 August)

Reality came to the fore during a 21 August promo from Becky Lynch on SmackDown too.

Becky visibly wasn't expecting that fans would cheer her so wildly or agree with her points about Charlotte Flair, and that's what made this so extraordinary. It was one of those sweet moments when audience and wrestler harmonise, come together as one and plough forward into a brave new dawn.

Since then, Lynch has trumped even Ronda Rousey as WWE's most watchable female superstar, and she's done it all with a quiet confidence that was born during this soapbox smash hit. It was as if the people gave Becky wings, and she's been on a tear since proving she can be an excellent talker when the scripting isn't half-hearted or mealy-mouthed. Late-August was a coming of age moment for 'The Man'.

Hearing her dispense with the flawed chirpy Irish 'Lass Kicker' vibes and become a threatening killer who enjoyed the feeling of hatred for others who deserved it worked a treat. In one promo, Becky proved her mettle as a women's wrestling maverick.
