10 Best WWE Royal Rumble Performances Ever

1. Rey Mysterio - 2006

Rey Mysterio is known as being the ultimate underdog, and as one of the smallest superstars to compete in WWE it€™s easy to see why. He made a splash upon his debut and wowed fans who were perhaps unfamiliar with him from his time in WCW, but few people would have ever thought he would reach main event status. However, through hard work and talent Mysterio worked his way up the ranks to become one of the most popular stars of the 2000s. He, along with the wrestling community, was dealt a major blow in late-2005 when his longtime friend and WWE Legend Eddie Guerrero passed away suddenly. Going into the Royal Rumble in 2006, Rey dedicated his performance in the match to the memory of his friend, and entered in one of Eddie€™s signature lowriders. The odds were stacked against Rey more than ever on this occasion, as he drew the unlucky #2 spot, which is just as bad as drawing #1. Rey Mysterio lasted sixty-two minutes and twelve seconds, eliminated six men and won the Royal Rumble match, eliminating Triple H last to claim victory. Rey then shared his emotional victory with the jubilant fans, as they all remembered and honoured the memory of the late, great, Eddie Guerrero.
