Survivor Series was one of two perfect PPVs in 2002 (the other one being SummerSlam). From the opening table match which contained the likes of Jeff Hardy and Bubba Ray Dudley, right until the main event of the first-ever Elimination Chamber which contained Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam, Kane, and Booker T, Survivor Series was flawless.

The one bout which surpassed all others, however, was the triple threat tag team match with the WWE (SmackDown) tag team championships on the line.

Paul Heyman was one of the head writers for the blue brand at this point in time, and he pushed heavily for an emphasis on superstars such as Edge, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, and Chavo Guerrero.

The SmackDown Six were given 20 minutes in this amazing PPV to demonstrate to the stellar New York crowd why Heyman had given so much stock in them. Tag Team matches can sometimes become messy, but every individual in this contest was on the same page and equally willing to give their all to their opponents.

Had the main event not been a new gimmick match, the crowd would have been hard pushed to give as much energy as they did in this bout.
