Swiss pro wrestlers is admittedly a small category, but omitting this man from our list would be a crime. Make no mistake about it, this man will be world champion one day, and that day approaches ever faster. After a few false starts, he€™s been linked up with Paul Heyman, a wise move as it will boost his stock in the eyes of the fans and put him on a par with Brock Lesnar and CM Punk (let€™s forget about Curtis Axel, OK?). I first saw Claudio Castagnoli, as he was then known, in a small independent show in a town called Orpington in south east England. He was teaming with a fellow Swiss called Ares as Swiss Money Holding. Wrestling in white shirts with the sleeves cut off and black ties, they certainly looked different and made an impression. It was clear from that early point that Castagnoli had the magical combination of technical wrestling expertise and a magnetic personality that shone out in the ring and hooked people in. Several years later, our paths crossed again as I was commentating on a Pro Wrestling NOAH British tour. He was once again featured in a tag team, called The Kings of Wrestling, along with Chris Hero (Kassius Ohno in NXT). Once again, they connected with the audience immediately and were the among the highlights of each show on the tour. So it came as no surprise when Cesaro€™s first notable venture in the WWE was a part of a tag team. It was his Real Americans tag team with Jack Swagger that first saw Cesaro receive a sustained reaction from the WWE Universe. At WrestleMania, Cesaro won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and linked up with Heyman the following day. The sky is, as they say, the limit for this very talented man.
