In the days before Dynamite Kid and Jacques Rougeau were punching each other in the face backstage (for real), their respective tag teams worked some nifty professional wrestling matches against one another. One of their best and certainly most noteworthy came in the opener of SummerSlam 1988.

The Rougeaus were freshly turned heel here and Davey started the match by immediately attacking Jacques, pummelling him and forcing him to tag out to Raymond, who didn't have much look, either. The Bulldogs were the proverbial well-oiled machine here, tagging in and out with regularity, until a sneaky trip from the heels gave them an opening to work over Smith.

When Kid got the hot tag and cleaned house only to find himself on the end of a beatdown, you could tell it was going to be a long match. And so it came to be, as after twenty minutes of great action, the referee called for the bell to signify a time limit draw.

A pretty weak finish, yes, but the wrestling until that point was great. Watching Dynamite Kid here, you realise just how good he was. Everything he did looked crisp and brutal (usually because it was) and Davey Boy sure could move before all of his injuries and other troubles.

The Rougeaus, for their part, demonstrated why they are considered one of the most underrated tandems from the era.
