WWE fans hadn't seen anything quite like 1-2-3 Kid and Hakushi in 1995. This was not an era where high-flying wrestling was particularly prevalent. The big man typically reigned supreme still and workrate was in short supply. Hell, just look at the SummerSlam '95 headliner: Mabel versus Diesel. Need I say more?

The show-closer might have been slow and sluggish but the opener was anything but, as Kevin Nash's backstage buddy tore it up and set the pace with the new Japanese sensation. Waltman was bumping around like a man possessed here, and Hakushi wowed the Civic Center crowd with rarely-seen moves, such as an impressive Space Flying Tiger Drop.

After all of the expected criss-cross sequences and trading the advantage, Hakushi grounded his opponent and wore him down with a handspring back elbow, kicks and splashes. Kid managed to evade one of the splashes, though, and mounted a comeback, rallying with a dropkick and a nifty plancha.

It looked like the Kid might have the match won following a slingshot legdrop and a big splash off the top but Hakushi was able to counter a leg lariat with a powerbomb variation for the victory.

Might seem a little dated or weak viewed through 2016's eyes but it was revolutionary for the time and a great PPV opener to boot.
