10 Best WWE Taboo Tuesday Fan Decisions
3. Roddy Piper Partnering Ric Flair (2006)
If it had to be a pair of veterans competing for - and, as it turned out, winning - the World Tag Team Championships, it was at least a good idea to keep them as young as possible. And, however over-the-hill, Piper was only 52 to Sgt. Slaughter's 58 and Dusty Rhodes' 61.
Ultimately, we got the best ever seven-minute match between two fifty-somethings and a gang of peppy male cheerleaders that we possibly could have, and for that we deserve a little bit of credit.
Plus, Piper and Flair - even in the later (read: slower) years - was something of a dream pairing for the many fans who watched them back in their hey-day during the 1980s. And a brief run as tag team champs didn't really hurt anyone - apart from the Spirit Squad, obviously.
