In 2011, Punk delivered the most memorable promo in years, some would call it the greatest promo ever, and it instantly made Punk.

Immediately after, Punk was the talk of the pop culture world and, what a coincidence, that he became the controversial talk of the town thanks to his controversial talk of the town.

But Punk did more than have just one good promo. He used that fateful Vegas speech as a springboard to deliver memorable promo after memorable promo in the Summer of 2011.

While WWE didn't maximise what they had on their hands with CM Punk's exponentially-growing popularity, Punk's way with words did enough to win over the hearts of many fans, both inside wrestling and out.

His current stint with the UFC likely wouldn't have been an option for the real-life Phil Brooks had it not been for his ability to cut a promo. As talented as he was between the ropes, Punk's post-WWE career might've been completely different if he couldn't captivate a room with just his voice.

His popularity in becoming a pop-culture symbol and his status as an all-time great WWE Superstar is all thanks to his ability to talk. That ability is so good and has taken him to so many places, including the #1 spot on this list.
