In 2016, the Royal Rumble match itself will be for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Admittedly, this isn't the first time that has been the case, but the 2016 iteration of the famous match does have some originality surrounding it. The only other Rumble match to have the title on the line fell in 1992, but the belt was vacant before the event. The 2016 version sees Roman Reigns attempt to defend the WWE Title in the Royal Rumble, which is a genuine first. Obviously, given the name of the event, the actual 30-man over-the-top-rope match is the main attraction and the match most are excited about come Royal Rumble time. There's just something about the bout that fans love, although it has arguably lost some shine in recent years. Most of the time, WWE back support the Rumble by booking several other top-line matches, one of which is usually for the WWE Title. It's likely that the WWE Title will be the featured talking point coming out of the Rumble in 2016, but it won't be the first time that's happened.
