Though the Woken character hasn't taken off like the Broken Universe did in Impact Wrestling, and still feels like a watered down version of the act that revived Matt Hardy's career in 2016, the ageing tag star has fared well throughout 2018.

He started the year without direction. Left scrapping with the likes of Heath Slater and Curt Hawkins in January, he and Bray Wyatt then embarked on a feud that fast became a creative nightmare, but delivered a satisfying conclusion in the Ultimate Deletion. At that point, Hardy's record stood at 4-3. He hasn't lost a single bout since, and after beating Goldust in singles action on 2 April, Matt embarked on a lengthy tag team winning streak that shows no sign of slowing down any time soon.

He, like his partner, benefits from operating in a division of no-hopers. The Revival could pose them a challenge someday, but they're buried six feet deep at the moment, leaving Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler as their only credible opposition. This means that Hardy faces borderline jobbers more often than not, though this could change when the Authors Of Pain start showing up for work.
