To see an Author Of Pain on our list shouldn't be a huge surprise, despite the many failures of their main roster run thus far. They're a dominant monster team, after all. Their creative direction stinks, but they usually win, and it's hard to see the talented rookies ever going the way of The Ascension.

AOP's Raw run has been stop/start. They debuted to much hype, then immediately vanished, with the bulk of their work taking place on Main Event. Drake Maverick became their manager a few months after debuting. Though Akam and Rezar needed a mouthpiece, that Drake was still playing babyface on 205 Live while dicking around with AOP a couple of nights before made no sense, and the image of the diminutive former Rockstar Spud with these two brutes still looks ridiculous. Their fortunes improved with Maverick, however, and the Authors were soon crowned Raw Tag Team Champions.

Then Drake's gimmick became 'guy who pisses on things.'

Then they lost the gold to Bobby Roode and Chad Gable after just a single successful defence.

... and now AOP kinda suck again.

Let's hope their storylines and presentation match their in-ring records in 2019.
