10 Best WWF Matches Of The 1980s

2. Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat - WrestleMania 3

One of the greatest technical matches of all time was spurred on by Randy Savage basically succeeding at crushing Ricky Steamboat's throat. Steamboat only returns though after seeing Randy Savage torment George "The Animal" Steele so much to the point where he just can't take it anymore. This is only mentioned because one would think that these behaviors would lead to a pier-six brawl and not a high-flying extravaganza filled with near falls and breathtaking athleticism. However, though everything about Savage and Steamboat's Wrestlemania III match defies traditional wrestling logic, that's also what makes the match incredible. The two grapplers push each other to the limit within the confines of the ring, elevating their feud into a chess match fueled by pure hatred more than anything else. Elizabeth and Steele fade away, and it;s just these two outstanding performers pushing each other to new levels of greatness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WizE010F30 Maybe the best "pure" wrestling match from the WWF in the 1980s, it's a perpetual must-watch and actually never gets old.
