Beth Phoenix will enter the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2017, an honor bestowed upon only the best and most influential female performers in sports-entertainment history.

A woman who led the women's revolution before it became a buzz term, she proved that females in the sports entertainment industry can kick ass and look good while doing it. She excelled at a time when a performer's ability was judged on her cup size and ability to rock a bikini.

Phoenix was a fantastic worker who focused her attention on being the best from the moment she debuted in 2006 and until she retired from the squared circle in 2012. She reminded fans that a performer's ability to perform from bell to bell was as important as how she carried herself away from the action or how appealing her face on a promotional poster was.

A woman who combined glam and athleticism to create one of the most perfect presentations of what a strong, confident, competitive and dominant female competitor should be, Phoenix rose from the ashes of the golden era of women's wrestling to forge her own path and lay the groundwork for the Superstars who currently compete for supremacy in the Raw and SmackDown women's divisions.

An influential performer whose work involved outstanding in-ring performances, comedy relationships and unbridled strength and toughness, her induction into the Hall of Fame is the culmination of a career that exceeded expectations and earned her pro wrestling immortality.

10. Bending Melina In Half (Royal Rumble 2009)

The rivalry between Beth Phoenix and Melina resulted in some of the best women's matches of the 2000s.

Their Royal Rumble 2009 effort was but one of them.

In the middle of the Women's Championship match in Detroit, Phoenix overpowered Melina and took control of the bout. Then, in one of the most shocking moments of the entire pay-per-view broadcast, she bent Melina backwards, taking her left leg in her massive arms and proceeding to use her own foot to kick her head.

It was a sight to behold, the most jaw-dropping display of flexibility on Melina's part but an indicator of the lengths to which Phoenix was willing to go to retain her title.

She would fail to do so but no one really remembers who walked away with the gold, only that The Glamazon sickeningly folded Melina backward and pummeled her with her own limb.
