Trish Stratus was in the midst of a nasty, personal feud with Mickie James in the spring and summer of 2006. After losing the Women's Championship to the deranged newcomer at WrestleMania 22, she was seeking both vengeance and a return to golden glory.

Injured, she needed assistance in the form of one of James' familiar foes. Beth Phoenix attacked the psychotic champion from behind, pummeling her at ringside and sending her scurrying to safety.

It was a monumental debut for Phoenix, who had long been one of the standout performers in WWE's Ohio Valley Wrestling. While her initial run on the main roster may have proven short-lived, for reasons beyond her control, Phoenix was quite obviously poised for great things from the beginning.
