10 Beth Phoenix Moments That Led To WWE Hall Of Fame 2017 Induction

2. Battling The Best (Raw, 2008)

In December 2008, Phoenix stood across the squared circle from the greatest women's wrestler WWE had ever produced, Trish Stratus, in the main event of Monday Night Raw.

Phoenix was in the midst of her fun run with Santino Marella and the happy couple teamed to meet Toronto's own Stratus and tag team partner John Cena. The match, built almost entirely around Stratus' involvement in her hometown, was pure fluff but for Phoenix, it represented a seal of approval from management.

Vince McMahon and Company could have selected anyone else to spar with Stratus but they trusted Phoenix to work with the seven-time women's champion, whose history of back injury was well-known.

One of the highest-profile matches of her entire career, Phoenix shined and proved that at her peak, she was a fantastic pro wrestler capable of working with the best the industry had to offer and succeeding when the lights shined brightest.
