10 Better Finishers For Current WWE Superstars

All of these WWE Superstars NEED to find better ways to end their matches.

A wrestler’s finisher is just as important as their gimmick as it helps separate them from their peers. Without a unique and effective finisher, it’s hard for a wrestler to connect with the crowd or for the stories they tell in the ring to be told effectively.

Seth Rollins recently underwent a change in his finishing move. After his Curb Stomp was discontinued, he used some different finishers, before switching to the Pedigree, a move bestowed upon him by Triple H himself.

Not only does that speak volumes of HHH’s support for the former Shield superstar, but the Pedigree has been a protected move since Triple H first started using it in 1996. With the Pedigree, Rollins will be able to win matches with greater finality, and it will keep one of the most popular wrestling moves in WWE history still in use, instead of retiring the maneuver altogether.

Rollins’ finisher change should spur other WWE Superstars and Divas to do the same and mix things up a little bit. Apart from the perpetual main-eventers of WWE (Rollins, Reigns, Cena, Bryan, Ambrose, Sheamus, Orton and to a lesser extent Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens), the rest of WWE’s superstars have less-interesting or otherwise unimpressive finishers. This is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Each one of the following ten WWE Superstars and Divas need to change what they’re currently using as their finisher and adopt something that’s more likely to garner a bigger response from the crowd.

10. Naomi

Current Finisher: ‘Rear View’ (Flying Butt Bump)

Naomi recently became a heel Diva, and changed her look substantially from when she was billed as one of the Funkadactyls. She’s meaner, more aggressive, and looks more like ex-WWE Diva Jazz (who was also intimidating) than she does a cheerleader. As such, her finisher should reflect her persona, and be more of an extension of her personality.

Her current finisher, the ‘Rear View’ Butt Bump, is clearly a babyface manoeuvre. Mo one booed when Rikishi gave someone the Stinkface, and the same principle applies here. Naomi’s finisher shouldn’t be faced on the fact that she has wide hips.

Suggested New Finisher: Michinoku Driver

Though it might look like nothing more than a modified Scoop Slam, the Michinoku Driver’s effectiveness lies in its simplicity. It’s much less ‘situational’ than Naomi’s current finisher, and the sit-out position and higher angle of the victim’s fall makes it look like the move does more damage, which is exactly the kind of impression that Naomi should be trying to make as one of WWE’s new heel divas.

All Naomi has to do is slam her opponent down with ferocity, and she’ll be a much more convincing heel that she would be if she kept using her buttocks as a weapon.
