10 Better Finishers For Current WWE Superstars
6. Xavier Woods
Current Finisher: ‘Lost in the Woods’ (Inverted Stomp Facebreaker)
As part of the New Day, Xavier Woods spends most of his time either managing from ringside, or using cheap moves (like the ROLL-UP OF DEATH) to win his matches. As long as he’s part of that group, he should stay in that role because it works for him.
When he’s in singles competition, however, it’s a different story. Woods’ finisher prior to joining the New Day was one of the least-painful-looking moves in WWE: the inverted footstomp facebreaker (Gail Kim’s Eat Defeat). It’s not practical, because the user has to fall on their back for the move to have any effect. If you’re trying to use your feet to hurt your opponent, why not just kick them as hard as you can?
In any case, Woods also needs a new finisher once the New Day gimmick runs its course.
Suggested New Finisher: His understanding of psychology
Unlike others on this list, who have a specific move suggested, Woods should use a different finisher for every opponent. Austin Watson is set to complete his PhD in psychology soon, which would in theory make him one of the smartest wrestlers on the roster. WWE should take advantage of that, and make a gimmick where he uses his understanding of psychology to defeat his opponents.
From studying their injury history, to using their weaknesses against them, to manipulating their emotions, this is a creative direction that would make Woods one of the most unique and interesting wrestlers on the roster.
