Another effective big angle for Randy Orton to return in would be as a surprised, unannounced entrant in next year's Royal Rumble. The Rumble PPV is an extremely important date in the WWE calender and usually helps to set up many angles for WrestleMania. The Rumble itself is still a big deal, given that it only happens once a year. There is serious potential for surprises and newsworthy moments at the supershow. If WWE really wanted Orton's return to be effective they could wait off until the Royal Rumble and eliminate Seth Rollins, Kane and anyone else who helped to put him on the sidelines. Orton has had many good showings in the Rumble before, even winning it in 2009, and this would be one more moment to add to his Rumble résumé. While Orton winning the Rumble is probably a step too far, having him enter as a surprise would surely be a great way to bring him back into the fold.
