10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE TLC 2020
9. Last-Minute Additions
In what is becoming something of a recurring theme over this past year, the-powers-that-be at WWE have been compiling relatively tight match cards for their PPVs. A good thing? Absolutely, but it does often come after weeks of under-planning before a few last-minute additions are made to pad out the sparse cards.
The problem with these late arrivals is the fact that they lack the emotional depth (though it's hard to say if TLC has any of that to begin with) or narrative hook that the other contests of the evening do, because they either weren't supposed to be there in the first place or the creative team just waited to the last minute to add it instead of telling a better story in the lead-up to the PPV.
Now these last-minute additions may end up on the Kickoff Show, but by its very nature, that would make them seem far less important... and that's not a good thing either.
With an underrepesented SmackDown presence, it does feel like some late arrivals are incoming...
