Rusev’s had a hard time lately. Having spent the last three months being relentlessly bullied by Roman Reigns, The Bulgarian Brute has found himself once again defending his and his wife Lana’s honour from WWE’s resident court jesters. He’ll face Big Cass on Roadblock’s Kickoff Show, and there’s only one logical conclusion: Rusev must go over.

As with the Reigns feud, Rusev has done absolutely nothing wrong in this situation. All he has done is protect Lana from Enzo Amore’s crude advances, and while last week’s hotel room assault was devious, it’s hard to argue that Enzo didn’t deserve it. This is a guy who thought that parading around naked in front of another man’s wife was acceptable behaviour, after all, and he has nobody to blame but himself.

Cass looks equally misguided in failing to see what his partner has done wrong, and his win would send all the wrong messages. Despite their crowd reactions, Enzo & Cass have been the bad guys in this situation, and it’s time they received their comeuppance. You don’t mess with another man’s wife, and it’s been awhile since Rusev scored a big PPV victory anyway. The duo will likely have a fun little slugfest on the pre-show, but this should be the end of their story.
