10 Big Questions From WWE RAW (August 10)

What did we learn from this week's show?

Did this week's RAW see the return of a former WWE, United States, Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion? Is this man now also a New York Times bestselling author? In a word: Yes. Daniel Bryan's welcome presence on RAW wasn't a huge surprise, given that we were in his home state of Washington. Still, the live crowd showed that Bryan is as popular as ever, despite his extended layoff. Talking of layoffs, there's still no sign of John Cena or his busted nose, other than the cringeworthy talking mock-up on the titantron courtesy of the man whose botch has put their SummerSlam match in doubt - Seth Rollins. Last night did, however, give us the return of Ryback, as well as a missed opportunity for hilarity as Xavier Woods was prevented from powerbombing Torito. There was also, sadly, an exchange between Randy Orton and Kevin Owens that left a very bad taste in the mouth. Here are the 10 Big Questions from WWE RAW.

10. Will Cena Make It To SummerSlam?

Given the United States Champion's record of near-superhuman recovery from injuries sustained previously in his career, it would be a pretty big shock were Cena to fail to make it to the Biggest Party of the Summer. But Triple H's revelation that Cena is "50/50 at best" gives pause for thought. The pictures speak for themselves - Cena's nose was an absolute mess following its brutal encounter with the WWE Champion's knee. But is it bad enough to rule a man like Cena out of such an important show? In all likelihood, WWE are merely being cautious by keeping him off TV until the PPV so he doesn't cause himself further damage, and Triple H's words are merely a means to intrigue. Besides, the world will see just how bad Cena's nose is when he appears on Tough Enough.

As a long-time WWE fan, I have always enjoyed watching men pretend to beat each other up while wearing spandex. Extra points for facepaint, none for tassels. I love all things sci-fi. If there's a 'Star' somewhere in the title, I'll probably dig it. I'm a huge football fan too. For my sins, I support Manchester United.
