8. How Far Can Stardust Go?

Or, specifically, how far can The Wrestler Formerly Known As Cody Rhodes go now that he has semi-rebooted the Stardust gimmick as a Marvel-esque supervillain? At the moment, the jury is out.

There are definite plusses so far in this feud with Neville (not least, the fact that Neville actually has someone to feud with now), with the whole superhero angle feeling larger than life. It's almost an homage to the gimmicks of the early 90s. The good ones, that is. Not the Max Moons or Mantaurs.

Yet, it's still difficult to get past the fact that Cody is ripping off his brother's gimmick. Being strange came more naturally to Goldust, if that makes any sense. Cody seems a little ill at ease and lacks Goldie's subtlety. Add to this the feeling that this feud has been drawn up with Neville in mind, with Stardust merely fitting the bill as a suitable opponent, and it's hard to see what Stardust might move on to once this feud is done.

The smart ass answer is 'Superstars' - but let's hope both men can get the best out of working together.

As a long-time WWE fan, I have always enjoyed watching men pretend to beat each other up while wearing spandex. Extra points for facepaint, none for tassels. I love all things sci-fi. If there's a 'Star' somewhere in the title, I'll probably dig it. I'm a huge football fan too. For my sins, I support Manchester United.
