The main event of Raw was the eight-on-eight "USA Vs. The World" elimination match. On Team USA were Kane, The Big Show, Apollo Crews, Zack Ryder, Mark Henry, Jack Swagger, and The Dudley Boyz. The international team boasted Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Kalisto, Sin Cara, and Cesaro.

To make a long story short, the match was fine, and Team USA went over. More noteworthy, though, was the fact that the survivors on the team were Zack Ryder and The Big Show. Ryder won the match for his team, finishing Sheamus off with the Rough Ryder.

It was a cool moment for the two million people who were watching Raw, and in another day and age, it would look like Ryder, at long last, was getting a push. Now, though, fans know better than to get their hopes up. There have been similar starts and stops with Ryder in the past, and it's all made him worse off than he was to start with. The most recent one, at WrestleMania, did nothing for him in the long term.

It would be nice to believe in Zack Ryder, but unfortunately, we know better.
