8. The Intercontinental Title Has Fallen Again

It was a bit of a gut punch when The Miz defeated Zack Ryder for the Intercontinental Title right after WrestleMania, but he ended up becoming a great champion. His match with Cesaro at Payback was quite good, and that paved the way for an amazing four-way with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at Extreme Rules. The Intercontinental Title was important and, for the first time in years, The Miz was relevant.

Unfortunately, WWE made the decision to keep the title on Miz when he left to film The Marine 5, keeping the belt on ice for a month. Since coming back, his fortunes have changed. He lost to Kane via countout on Raw last week, and was pinned by Dean Ambrose on Smackdown.

This week, Ambrose and Miz were in non-title action once more, and while the match was good, Miz once again fell to "The Lunatic Fringe." WWE should be using Miz to build up an Intercontinental Title match for Battleground, and the fact that they're not proves that the title isn't all that important.
