Blake Monroe Admits WWE Main Roster Frustrations (WWE News)

That NXT > WWE main roster leap didn't go as smoothly as Blake Monroe hoped it would.

WWE star Blake Monroe has relented that biding her time on the main roster after jumping up from NXT earlier this year was incredibly frustrating. At the same time, the ex-AEW standout believes "timing is everything", and she was never going to stop working hard to impress.

That's an automatic state of mind for the one time Mariah May.

The Brit told Busted Open Radio that she did have some doubts about whether or not she'd ever force her way into the creative team's plans. Early hiccups included endless 'Coming Soon' vignettes, followed by a real nothing burger of an in-person debut next to Chelsea Green.

Blake could take heart from Chelsea's own journey though. She went from backstage comedy character to Women's Champion, and has blossomed into one of the most popular babyfaces on the roster.

Despite that, Monroe did look at opportunities afforded to other women on the SmackDown scene and wonder when her time would come. On that, she said this: "Alright, I train, I go to the gym every day, I dress like a million bucks, I have my character, I have ideas. I want to be out there. I see other girls, I think I could be better than them. I think if I had the shots they had and the opportunities they had, I would have done more with it".

It was tough not to grow despondent about the lack of chances coming Blake's way, but she looks to have turned a corner after beating Giulia in a fun 'Street Fight' on the 23 October SmackDown. More recently, Monroe lined up a potential clash with Paige.

"I did have moments where I questioned myself, so let that be a lesson to everyone out there. Even 'The Glamour' questions herself, but I remembered who I am, what I did to get here, and I just kept working harder".
