At the moment, AJ Styles is poised to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Payback in early May.

Given that Reigns just bagged the gold at WrestleMania, completing a journey WWE had in mind for over a full year, it's unlikely that the former TNA man will emerge victorious.

That's not a problem, and it's flattering for Styles to be involved in such a high profile bout to begin with.

Some may disagree, but there were no guarantees that he would be used correctly by the company upon his debut back at the Royal Rumble in January. Since then, he has shown himself to be a wholly consistent performer, someone WWE can trust to deliver the goods.

WWE may wish to reward AJ's endeavour by having him win the annual Money In The Bank collision. During the early days of TNA's existence, he worked several thrilling Ladder Matches, so he has experience in the gimmick bout.

Such a victory would prove popular, because even though he's a ring veteran, Styles is relatively fresh on the WWE scene. He's more than an outside bet, but still not quite the outright favourite.
