WCW was the only professional wrestling promotion in history that actually stood a chance of stopping Vince McMahons juggernaut. With a deep roster that combined charismatic stars and aesthetically-pleasing technicians, some incredibly creative forces behind the scenes, and Ted Turners money, WCW was almost poised to overtake WWE completely, and actually did so for over a year during the Monday Night Wars.
