2. Shawn Michaels On Montreal

Shawn Michaels' instantly iconic Montreal promo was far more than just an exhibition of sh*housery from one of the finest to ever grace his canvas.

In the summer of 2005, 'HBK' took a heel holiday, turning for a month just for the benefit of a dream SummerSlam scuffle with Hulk Hogan. A legendary tw*t in his pomp, Michaels had remained as separated from that version of himself on screen as he'd done in real life. Saved from the ruination of booze and pills by religion, he was no longer the man with the anger to summon for such a role, or so it seemed.

The finite nature of the feud seemed to fuel Michaels going all the way in on the gimmick.

Weeks and weeks of blistering promos from him left Hogan as good as dead in the angle long before his mad bumping buried him in their eventual match, and this p*ss funny diatribe was the peak of his performances.

Loathed in Montreal for his part in screwing Bret Hart 8 years earlier, Michaels steered into the boos before teeing up the music of both 'The Hitman' and 'The Hulkster'.

"WHO'S YOUR DADDY, MONTREAL?!" was the gravelled vocal takeaway from an absorbing 16 minute show-opening promo that served as how the 'Showstopper' steal knew how to steal any event too.
