WWE’s increased product differentiation has been a huge highlight of the past few years. NXT’s rise gave fans an exciting, wrestling-centric show to enjoy away from the main roster’s rampant sports entertainment, and a glut of high-quality Network shows like Breaking Ground have left us spoiled for choice. There’s truly something for everyone in WWE at the moment, and WWE only increased their programming’s variety in 2016.

The Cruiserweight Classic was a huge success, and allowed guys like TJ Perkins, Gran Metalik, and Rich Swann a clear path to the main roster. The tournament delivered a solid hour of some of the most viscerally thrilling wrestling that WWE had produced in years every Wednesday night, and while the Cruiserweights haven’t lived up to expectations on Raw, the forthcoming 205 Live show should set them back on the right course.

The Brand Split has created a clear differentiation between Raw and SmackDown, however, and NXT’s high roster turnover has seen WWE’s developmental territory overcome its early-year struggles to once again become must-see television. Raw remains stagnant, but there’s plenty to enjoy across WWE’s programming in late 2016, and this should only continue if they deliver on the rumoured women’s tournament next year.
