10 Biggest Legal Battles WWE Ever Faced

7. Vince Gets Beaten By A Panda

Wwf Pandas Or, more specifically, the WWF (World Wildlife Fund/Worldwide Fund for Nature). In 1979, the then WWWF renamed itself the WWF and it lived in happy co-existence with the pandas (so as to not get the two WWF's mixed up with you, the reader) for several years. This fragile peace was partially broken in 1994, when the pandas launched a suit against Vince to limit his use of the initials WWF on a global basis in case anyone got confused as to which company was which (a simplified version, admittedly, but not far from the reality). Vince agreed to this, but as we all know he does what he likes, and continued to use the initials WWF anywhere and everywhere. in 2000, the pandas again sued Vince, and over the course of around 2 years, they won as Vince was forced to change his company's name from the WWF to the WWE. While the tensions eventually eased a little in 2012, allowing WWE to use the old logos on DVD releases and on the WWE Network, the fact that Vince had to change his company name, etc., did not sit well with Vince but there was nothing he could do. He had been beaten into submission by a stick of bamboo.
