7. Should The Undertaker Have Retired With "The Streak"?

There aren't many wrestling-related things that would go on to reach the levels of mystique that The Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania did. Every year, it was one of the most talked-about storylines, no matter who he was facing. Every year, people wondered if this would finally be the time he lost, and every year, he would win yet again. Obviously, his streak is over now, but should it be? People on one side of the debate feel that Taker should have retired with the streak intact. Those people feel that Taker has earned the right to retire with as long of an undefeated streak as his body could physically handle, because of everything he's done for the company. The other side, of course, feels that Taker leaving the business by losing to someone, preferably an up-and-coming name, would be the ultimate way to "pass the torch" to the next generation. When he'd face off with someone more experienced, like Shawn Michaels or Triple H, the whole "passing the torch" moment wouldn't matter. In recent years, it would have had to be people like Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Ryback, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, or Bray Wyatt to get that "rub". You could almost view it as a waste if he were to lose to someone who didn't need the win to reach the next level. On that last point, some would say Brock Lesnar ending "The Streak" did take him to another level, as it made him a bigger monster than any other victory could have, but he was going to get pushed to the moon, no matter what. The debate for this one has changed a lot in the last year, now that it isn't wondering if he should retire with it, but looking at it retroactively. That certainly doesn't mean the arguments are over, though.
