10 Biggest Rebels In WWE History

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin

There is no doubt about the man sitting at number one on this countdown. For fans that loved DX's willingness to bash authority, they loved Stone Cold Steve Austin's willingness to bash them even more. Austin took no prisoners, no one was safe and everyone was a target. When The Texas Rattlesnake hit the ramp, he was open for business and he conducted that business with all the grace of a runaway Mack truck barreling down the wrong way of an interstate highway. If you got in his way then you paid the price, it was just that simple. Austin gave the middle finger to a company that had no idea how to present him and to the industry that gave him no respect. Stone Cold knew he was the best and all he needed was the right vehicle to show it. Shaving his head and drinking beer was that vehicle and it propelled him to super stardom, the likes of which had not been seen since Hulk Hogan. However, it was not just Austin's antics that caused him to get molten hot with the crowd. The fact is that Stone Cold could get it done in the ring as well. He was the top guy in every way as he was the best talker, the best worker and the man that sold the most merchandise. He had as much of an impact in that way as Ric Flair had in the NWA; he was the true definition of "the guy." Austin's character may have aligned with McMahon for a brief time but that is not the Stone Cold that fans will always remember. He will always be the most infamous and most successful rebel in WWE history and there is likely no one that will ever top what he accomplished. The term rebel begins and ends with Stone Cold Steve Austin.
