10 Biggest Regrets From Goldberg's WWE Career
6. His WrestleMania 20 clash with Brock Lesnar
Brock and Bill at WrestleMania should have been a highlight of the card. Indeed, the pair proved they had just such a match in them over a decade later. But at WrestleMania 20 it wasn’t to be. Instead, this still ranks as one of the most bizarre WrestleMania matches of all time.
Everyone knew Goldberg was done with WWE after a disappointing year but Brock Lesnar had also decided he wanted out, pursuing a career in American football. That news broke WrestleMania weekend.
After fans found out both men were leaving the company, they didn’t hold back when the two monsters hit the ring, booing and heckling that the two stars had sold out. Any positive noises were reserved for guest referee Steve Austin.
You’d expect two pros like these to rise above or roll with the crowd reaction to deliver a decent match anyway. Instead, both men seemed rattled by the negativity. As the boos rained down, Brock and Bill resorted to stalling and staring in a grumpy, bad-natured encounter that remains a blot on both men’s copybooks.
