10 Biggest Signings WWE Made In 2016
6. Luke Gallows And Karl Anderson
When Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson constantly boast about being signed to huge downsides by WWE, they aren't lying. At the dawn of the new year, news broke that AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Gallows and Anderson had handed in their notices to New Japan Pro Wrestling and were WWE bound. We may or may not discuss the former two later in the list (wink wink), but as for Gallows and Anderson, WWE signing them meant a major addition to their already loaded tag team division.
The acquisitions of Styles and Nakamura were officially announced by WWE almost instantly, so there was speculation as to why it took so long for Gallows and Anderson to debut. For months, they teased arriving at any moment, only to ambush The Usos on the April 11 edition of Raw. One week later, they seemingly aligned with AJ Styles, a trio later known collectively as The Club.
Their efforts to "beat up John Cena" week after week were entertaining, though drafting them to Raw without The Phenomenal One might have been a mistake. They're still struggling to beat The New Day for the Raw Tag Team Championships, but once they eventually do win the belts, it will be nearly impossible for anyone to take those twin titles from them.
