Bret Hart vs. Bam Bigelow from King of the Ring '93 was certainly a decent match, and as the final of the first televised iteration of the tournament, it certainly has a semblance of historical importance, at least within the framework of WWE's intended portrayal of the past.

But the ascension of Hart opposite the 'Beast from the East' wasn't even the Hitman's finest match of the night.

Earlier in the evening, Hart contested a near-twenty minute clinic against regular foil Mr. Perfect, a compelling display of astute technical prowess on the part of both men.

Presumably the match's omission is down the the occurrence of Bret and Perfect's SummerSlam '91 clash elsewhere in the book - although two matches apiece appear between The Rock and Steve Austin, and Hulk Hogan and André the Giant.

Arguably, the King of the Ring contest was the better of the two, so it's unusual it was their SummerSlam conflict that made the cut.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
