10 Biggest Victims Of The WWE Network Failure

10. The Fans

If you have already subscribed to the Network, or have just enjoyed sampling it for free during November, then you can probably tell us all why it's so great. If you haven't subscribed (assuming the Network is available in your country) then chances are you've already decided by now that you don't want it. And that's cool. Unfortunately WWE need every subscriber they can get because $9.99 a month just isn't enough to turn a profit. And so they advertise the Network on their television shows. Shows like Raw, Smackdown, NXT, Main Event, Superstars, and a whole cavalcade of minor shows you don't have time to watch and may not even know exist. And there's the problem. WWE already offer so much content every week, that fans are happy enough just watching it on TV. But when they tune in, they are bombarded with constant advertisements and desperate pleas to subscribe to the Network because WWE need this to succeed. Therefore fans who haven't subscribed have to sit through constant plugging for something they aren't interested in (if they were interested, they would have subscribed already). And fans who have subscribed have to listen to WWE attempt to sell them what they're already paying for. WWE has not grasped that creating more awareness does not automatically create more demand and the programming has suffered for it.

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
