10 Biggest Wasted Talents On The WWE Roster In 2017

7. Jim Ross

For a generation of fans, the soundtrack of Jim Ross' voice is as closely associated to the in-ring product as the wrestling itself. As such, JR's return to the WWE at WrestleMania 33 was as shocking as it was brilliant.

His calls of the biggest moments in history make him a key part of that history: from his closing lines at Survivor Series '97 and giddy exclamations during the Tyson/Austin confrontation to the countless soundbites from the Foley/'Taker Hell in a Cell match and endless calls of WrestleMania moments.

WWE has already done a good job of re-introducing him to the fray with his coverage of both the UK Championship Special and the UK Title match at NXT TakeOver. His addition to the Mae Young Classic also shows WWE's softening stance on phasing him out.

All of this is a step in the right direction but, for a man of JR's talent, it still seems as though he is being underutilised. If WWE were to add him to TV conducting sporadic sit-down interviews, similar to that of the famed Mankind segments of '98, JR could help elevate new stars. Meanwhile, adding him to "The Big Four" would add further sizzle to the steak and make the main event bouts seem all the more significant.
