10 Biggest Winners From CM Punk Leaving WWE

10. Dean Ambrose

Though CM Punk did much of his best work as a heel, for the majority of his last three years with WWE, he played an anti-establishment, man-of-the-people babyface behind whom fans found it easy to rally. Whether he was feuding with John Cena or Paul Heyman, fans saw something of themselves in Punk, or at least saw their viewpoints expressed by the superstar in an increasingly sanitized WWE environment. No matter where Punk found himself on the card, he was one of the most beloved performers on the roster. It seems as if today, Dean Ambrose is filling that particular role. As a slightly left-of-center babyface, he doesn't feel like he's been manufactured by company higher-ups, a criticism frequently applied to Cena and Roman Reigns. He's loved by all fans, with no backlash, and he fights tooth-and-nail in every bout despite not being the most naturally gifted athlete on the roster. And while Ambrose's star has fallen as of late, he did find himself in a few Pay-Per-View main events in 2014 and 2015 against the likes of Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt. Had Punk still been a part of the company, it's not certain that Ambrose would have gotten all of those opportunities.
