10 Biggest WWE Missed Opportunities In 2018

1. Shawn Michaels' Return

Don't listen to the haters.

Shawn Michaels didn't let anyone down with his performance at Crown Jewel. In fact, he exceeded expectations, and the parts with him involved were actually the slickest. The pain here comes from what might have been.

The great HBK returned on a controversial stadium show rife with political baggage, reunited D-Generation X for the millionth time and ignored the chance to further someone else's career. Maybe he's earned the right to pick his own spots, and he owned up to dreading the 'Mania pressure, but there's no doubt a singles match with someone like AJ Styles or Daniel Bryan would've been warmly received.

We'll never know, and now Shawn claims he's scratched an itch and will probably never wrestle again.

That means dream matches against AJ, Bryan or Seth Rollins (who has been compared to Michaels in terms of style and effort in carrying others) may not happen at all. That's upsetting to ponder, even more so when realising the circumstances surrounding Crown Jewel.
