Since NXT transitioned from the game show era to the Full Sail University era, Kassius Ohno had been one of their standout stars. An impeccable in-ring technician with charm and menance in equal amounts, he seemed destined for great things in WWE. This surprised no-one of course, because Kassius Ohno is also known as Chris Hero, who has long been regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers active today. He was there in the early days of globally recognised promotions like CHIKARA, Combat Zone Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Guerilla, and was the backbone of Ring of Honors tag division alongside his Kings of Wrestling partner Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro). In NXT, he had some of the best matches in the developmental territory's short history, including an absolute classic against technical wrestling master, William Regal. Chris Hero comes from the same stock as Regal, and is obsessed with British wrestling, so watching the two square off was an absolute joy to see. Unfortunately, Heros time in NXT was constantly plagued with rumours concerning his weight. He has a condition that causes his weight to fluctate wildly, and by his own admission isnt a gym guy so when he was released in November 2013, this was deemed the most likely reason. Since then, Hero returned to the indies to great fanfare to begin with, but these days his name rarely comes up. Photos surfaced of him with a considerable paunch which does not make his WWE future look bright, but hes currently spending much of time in Japan competing for Pro Wrestling NOAH.
