At the beginning of the year, both Emma and Paige were on the same level in the eyes of NXT fans. The previous year, they put on a classic contest to crown the first ever NXT Womens Champion and at NXT Arrival their rematch was even better. Fans couldnt wait for both women to really strike out and take the Divas division by storm, and while Paige did exactly that, Emmas fate was much more tragic. She was immediately paired with Santino in a comedy romance angle, and was even given her own pink cobra sock with big lips to make sure no-one took her seriously ever again. Things went from bad to worse when Emma was arrested for shoplifting an iPad mini case from a WalMart. WWE responded to this by releasing her, but upon further evaluation they reinstated her just over an hour later. Emmas attorney argued that it was all a mix-up with a self-service checkout, but Emma still had to perform community service and complete an online course before the charges were dismissed. Since then, Emma has been seen very rarely on Raw and SmackDown and while she was on Survivor Series, it doesnt seem likely shell get an opportunity to live up to the potential NXT fans know she has.
