The rules of the Rumble are simple: each of the 30 entrants has one shot to win. As soon as they spill over the top ropes and both feet hit the arena floor, they're done. There's no coming back for another try. At least, there isn't supposed to be.

Nobody told Mrs. Foley's baby boy that.

In 1998, Mick entered the Rumble as #1, #16 and #28. How the devil did he manage that, you ask? Well, Foley came armed with three different gimmicks, thus giving him the unique luxury of having three goes at winning the match. Cactus Jack was out first, then Mankind, then that hip-and-happening jive monkey Dude Love.

Nobody had ever seen anything like this in the Rumble before. Wrestlers had tried to re-enter after being eliminated, but no-one had pulled on a different gimmick or taken up more than one slot. What a genius piece of booking.
