2. 1-2-3 Kid Shocks The World By Beating Razor Ramon - Raw 1993
WWE.comThe date was May 17, 1993. Monday Night Raw was only about four months old and in those days a lot of those matches were matches featuring a star beating a preliminary guy (aka a jobber). When Razor Ramon faced off with the "The Kid" on Raw that night most people tuning in figured it would be a simple win for Razor like all of the times we saw that kind of thing happen before. Ramon was manhandling Kid due to his size, experience and talent level. Kid didn't look like somebody that could hang with somebody like Ramon, who tore him up using his signature moves like his patented fallaway slam. When Ramon missed a corner attack he hit the turnbuckle and that's when the magic happened. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obwnbKlbysM Kid climbed to the top rope, hit a moonsault press (McMahon didn't really call it) and he made the cover. Ramon tried to get out, but he was pinned down. Ref Mike Chioda, who was rocking a mullet, made the three count and this unknown Kid got the victory. The announce team of McMahon, Randy Savage and Bobby Heenan were freaking out about it. The Kid ran to the back. Ramon was freaking out. It's one of those genuine moments that WWE may never be able to duplicate again. An unknown beat a main guy at a time when it never happened. Following the match, they gave The Kid the name of the 1-2-3 Kid and he was later more famously known as X-Pac. The two guys would go on to become great friends too. It's one of the better moments from both of their careers.
