4. The Hurricane Beats The Rock (Thanks To Stone Cold) - Raw 2003
WWE.com"My God! Hurricane! Hurricane! Hurricane! Hurricane has beaten The Rock!" - Jim Ross. The Rock was tremendous as a heel in early 2003. It might have been the best role of his WWE career, which is saying a lot considering all the other great things he did. He built up this feud over a few weeks with The Hurricane, who was mostly a comedic style babyface although he was a very good in-ring performer too. They had a competitive matchup on the March 10 edition of Raw where nobody thought Hurricane had a chance, but they sure made it look like he could get the win. The match was very entertaining as they went back and forth for about ten minutes in a match that had No DQ rules. That was a key part of the story. When The Hurricane hit a Chokeslam it looked like he might win, but Rock was able to kick out. Rock hit the Spinebuster. As he set up for the People's Elbow, Steve Austin's music hit. Austin was his WrestleMania opponent. Rock was distracted by it. Austin didn't even touch him, though. Hurricane rolled up Rock and that was enough for the win. That "music plays to distract a guy" finish isn't a favorite of mine, but in this match they did it perfectly and gave us one of the best upsets in WWE history.
