As successful as The Undertaker's three-minute squash of John Cena turned out to be, the angle leading up for it was far from perfect, and actively detracted from one of the night's most significant moments.

Cena's ringside presence was an entertaining distraction. His hammy acting always provides unintentional hilarity, and it was the same at 'Mania, with the match-less 16-time World Champion posing for selfies with fans between sips of flat "beer." It was an interesting start that WWE then did nothing of interest with, and when a referee dashed down the ramp and informed John that The Undertaker was, indeed, in the building, Cena's hasty ringside exit sapped all life out of Asuka and Charlotte's off-pitched epilogue, reducing 'The Empress' to a giggling sycophant in the wake of her streak's implosion.

It took a full hour before John re-emerged, jorts and all, ready to face 'The Deadman.' It asks the question of why WWE even bothered in the first place. If Cena was so sure 'Taker wasn't going to be there, why would be bring his gear? And if he did anticipate 'The Deadman's' arrival, why not just grab a mic and throw another direct challenge down?
